New Framework

CQC have set out a new single assessment Framework, this is to cover all sectors and service types to see how you are all working in partnership starting from registrations to working alongside the local authorities and the integrated care systems.

The new framework will be made up of ratings and the five key questions, Safe, Caring, responsive, effective , Well led.

CQC will rely on quality statement under the key questions, these will be based on people's experiences and the standard of care that they expect to receive. These quality statements will replace the key lines of enquiries (KLOES).

CQC are introducing six new evidence categories to organise information under the statements.

Registrations will be based on this new framework, its first assessment activity for provider an integrated process.


How will CQC use this new framework

  • They will use a range of information to assess providers on flexibly and frequency, this assessment is not set on dates or your previous ratings.
    • CQC will be collecting evidence on an ongoing basis this can effect's' your rating at any time. 
    • Focus on people's experiences who use your services and encouraging other organisations who may be acting on their behalf, to share their experiences.
    • use feedback from partners depending on the settings the expectations will differ from one service to another.
